An Artistic Book
By Traci Neal
Pages perform a production. Sequence sizes
my African American skin. Surfaces spread
and spring to daisy dances. Musical minds
are entertainment. Elevate the economy with
words written past poetry on paper. Read a
story selection as stanzas.
Passages parade the purpose where words
penetrate. Pinch on people’s poetic base
beat. Art articulates the women of color
who administrate.
Identify individual emotions. Soak in the
drawings. It is time for us to draw dreams
with a permanent marker. I am a woman of
color, a painting made to be admired.
Behind an artistic book is a bold movement.
Examine the message.
Page by page turns to poetry.
